Shankar Iyer is the SVP and GM of Desktop Products at VMWare Inc. He is responsible for the enterprise/cloud desktop business in the EUC division at VMware.
Prior to VMWare, Shankar was the VP of Products and Engineering for Enterprise Mobility at Citrix Systems where he was instrumental in building the XenMobile business and products from the ground up. Before Citrix, Shankar was at WebEx as VP of Products and Engineering responsible for WebEx’s next generation platform and ecosystem and continued that role as part of the Cloud Application Services group at Cisco Systems. Shankar also has held executive management roles at Tibco Software as VP of Products and GemStone Systems as EVP Products before its acquisition by VMWare. He has an MBA from Santa Clara University, MS from the Ohio State University and a B.Tech. from IIT Bombay.
